ASK DAISY

Dear Fat, I mean Fan

It is just too bad that you insinuated that I am Large, I am no longer speaking to you. ( See , that is how I do it, I just don't listen to or respond to any negative comments )

Your role model,

Daisy

Dear Former BFF

You are correct, I am so beautiful and tanned that I don't need to work on my looks like some girls. I also have the perfect personality and talents so I don't need any self help or growth classes. I guess I will spend the summer giving advice and constructive criticism to Chili , Fiona and Nicky. Doesn't everyone like being criticized ( for their own good of course)

I can give parenting classes to the chickens, English as a second language to the Spanish Black turkeys and flying lessons to the ducklings. I will dedicate myself to the improvement of all those around me.

What fun this will be.

As for letting my housekeeper go have shopping fun, it all depends. You will have to just see how I feel on a certain day at a certain time and go from there. I am female after all therefor a bit mercurial. As an alternative to mindless human pleasures, you could always come here and groom me, give me treats, massage me and otherwise dedicate yourself to my happiness. That would keep you busy for the summer and I am sure it would give you immense pleasure.

Kisses
Daisy.

The ups and downs of Spa life

Oh my .......

Days at the spa are usually calm , quiet and sweet interspersed with moments of utter hysteria. The photo above is Nicky's face after he cast ( the fancy horsey word for "I've fallen and I can't get up" ). He was just taking an after dinner nap before our night time field patrol and when he rolled over he stuck BOTH back feet through the slats into Chili's stall. It was horrifying. The staff calmed him and he eventually pulled himself free . The damage was minor, his face hair will grow back and his ankles are still a little swollen and cut but nothing that won't be better in a little time .

It did cause another major renovation to our dinner quarters and you will see from this photo below that we now have solid walls up to about 2 feet and then smaller air flow areas until high enough to prevent any more mishaps.

Another very serious issue is that the groundskeeper seems determined to get a buggy. Doesn't he get it ?

.... even the name is unpleasant, who likes it when it is buggy, NO ONE, that's who . Bugs are bad, buggys are bad. Here is a photo of the last candidate he looked at, fortunately he decided that it was too much of a project and he said he wants something he can play/work with , not work on. He will be playing, you know who will be doing all the work !!!!!

We have been having a lot of walks, hikes and strolls lately. Here we are in Tango and Breeze's bus. It was OK but not as airy and open as ours. Speaking of ours, They personalized it for us. Our names are now all down the sides. It is too cool.

This flower is something the groundskeeper grew amidst much ridicule. He is quite proud to grow a flower in Florida that doesn't normally grow in Florida. Never mind it is suppose to be 8 feet tall and it grew a whopping 18 inches. The housekeeper has to publically admit, He is right. Sun flowers will grown in Fort Myers .

These are some new residents we have on board. These ladies are to bring in some much needed fresh genes to our diminished gene pool here .

Case in point. These are the sisters. One a duck, one a chicken and the baby's this time resemble chickens but please don't tell the duck that she isn't their mommy too.

If the chickens think that those new girls are the answer, I don't hold out too much hope for the future of our fowl population. This morning one had to be drug out of the trough , dried under a heat lamp and brought back from the brink of death. It doesn't matter how many times I tell them "Chickens can't swim", they see a mother duck with her baby chickens and things get confused in their little minds.

Last but not least, we failed in our attempt to rehabilitate the gander . He caused so very much unhappiness and discord in the family that He was shipped out to a place in Naples. The place also raises Wallaby's, Here is a baby wallaby that almost became a member of the family.

Personally I told the staff that if they want something with a pointy face, big ears and a long tail, they should just get a rat, they are cheaper and they love to live in barns

Ta Ta,

Daisy
